Foodie Fridays: Adamus Lounge - A Delightful Destination In The Heart Of The City

Out-of-Towners have all the fun.  They get to try out all the cool spots in the city and check-out all the hot new restaurants.  Well, Adamus Lounge is out to change all of that.  Tucked away along Chicago's South Loop area, Adamus Lounge is a part of the elegantly appointed Silversmith Hotel.

C-Style recently paid a visit to the venue to sample their Spring menu and find out more about why they want locals to make it their home-away-from-home.

Adamus is part energetic lounge - providing specialty cocktails and spirited libations handcrafted by experienced and entertaining mixologists with a lively ambience that presents the perfect backdrop to sip aperitifs or nightcaps. Part contemporary bar -effervescent with illuminating design elements that provoke electrifying liaisons and promise a buzzworthy destination for the mingling crowd. Part restaurant - styled to accommodate an intimate dinner-for-two or group of friends or family at a communal table - something to fit every taste.

The food is an experience unto itself.  Executive Chef, Nelson Erazo, explained that the menu offers only the freshest locally-sourced produce to create their dishes. Guests can rest assured that each menu is seasonal and will reflect the quality and taste eating local offers.

During our dining experience we started off with fresh-baked bread offered with a choice of olive oil, butter, and sun-dried tomatoes.

Next, we shared an order of the incredibly filling Lobster Croquettes highlighted with corn, roasted shallots, and tasso gravy.  I also ordered a French 75 cocktail (Brut Champagne, Tanqueray 10 and fresh lime) from the bar.

Food & Beverage Director, Adam Jones, also explained that guests are encouraged to mix-and-match their own cocktails and wines with their meal instead of having a stick-to-it pairing menu.

Next the main course - My guest chose the perfectly cooked-to-order Daily Grind Prime Beef Burger (served with tobacco onions, chipotle aioli, on a potato bun with wonderfully seasoned house fries).

Opting for lighter fare, I chose the Dill-Crusted King Salmon with preserved lemon, baby spinach, confit leeks, vermouth cream and grape tomatoes.

Guests will want to save room for dessert or an after-dinner digestif.  My guest ordered a half-portion of Oberweis Vanilla and Chocolate ice cream, while I finished off with a delicious cup of Adamus Irish Coffee (Lavazza Coffee, Jameson Irish Whiskey, with hand shaken, white chocolate whipped cream).

All-in-all locavores as well as Chicagoans looking to find a "go-to" place for after work cocktails, eats, and socializing should find their way over to Adamus Lounge.  Besides, out-of-towners don't deserve to have all the fun!
