Foodie Fridays! AMC Theatres Invite You To 'Dine In The Dark'

Everyone loves a night out on-the-town for dinner and a good movie.  It's one of the great American pastimes.  C-Style was recently invited to visit the newly re-modeled  AMC Yorktown 18 Theatre located at 80 Yorktown Shopping Center in Lombard, Illinois, a quick drive from Chicago.

AMC Yorktown 18 is one of a handful of AMC Dine-In Theatres across the country, and we got to sample their new menu to be rolled out nationally later this year.

If you've never been to an AMC Dine-In Theatre you're in for a real treat!  At AMC Yorktown 18, we found out from Christopher Oleske, Senior Manager of AMC Yorktown Dine-In-Theatre Red Kitchen, the concept behind the dine-in experience.

"Guests can see their food being prepared." Oleske said.  "Although we have a set menu, we're always willing to try and accommodate our guests if they need to substitute an item to make their dining experience more enjoyable." The Red Kitchen staff prepares all meals from scratch, from preparing freshly made sushi rolls to hand-battering chicken for their Southern Style Chicken Tenders-no frozen, microwaved dishes here!

So what can you expect from a dining-in-the dark experience?  Upon entering the theatre, guests select their meal from the extensive AMC Red Kitchen Menu.  Several options are available including:  Snacks & Shares (with items such as boneless wings, loaded tots, crab and avocado sushi roll, or pretzel bites to name a few),

Loaded Tots

Wedge Lettuce Cups

Burgers (the classic, the bacon 'n' ranch, the bbq chicken, the quinoa veggie)

The Royal Burger

Bowls (chicken caesar, chopped cobb, grilled chicken quinoa)

Baskets (southern style chicken tenders, fish and chips, taco trio, quesadillas)

Southern Style Chicken Tenders

Mac (traditional mac and cheese, gumbo, mediterranean, and bacon gouda).

Gumbo Mac and Cheese

Their is also a kids menu and my favorite - the Sweets Menu - (doughnuts, and a variety of yummy milkshakes).

Adult guests can also visit MacGuffins for a before-show cocktail - a great date night or girls night out feature.

As part of the dine-in- experience all dishes arrive in a convenient carry-out container via a swift and efficient staff.  Just in case you want another cocktail or want dessert after all, simply press the 'red button' next to your comfortable reclining seat and your order will be promptly delivered to your seat.

All-in-All AMC's Dine-In experience takes away the need to dine elsewhere and still make your movie on time.

Having your food delivered to your seat, being able to order extra drinks and dessert by pressing a button, and enjoying a movie equals a great night out!

If you're in the Chicago-area you can also visit the AMC at 600 N. Michigan Avenue for the dine-in experience.  Finally, another AMC Dine-In is scheduled to open in the near future at Block 37 on State Street in downtown Chicago.
