Friday evening, Chicagoans got together for the annual walk to a secret location called Diner en Blanc. This year's event was also blessed with beautiful weather as people donned a variety of beautiful and interesting white outfits and made the trek through downtown Chicago to dine al fresco.
This year's "secret locale" turned out to be none other than Federal Plaza (located at Adams and Dearborn streets) in front of the United States Post Office.
One of the sponsors of the event, Celebrity "X" Cruises made sure that a good time was had by all the media guests. We enjoyed our own richly-appointed tables serviced by a wait staff who offered endless pours of Apothic Wines and Canard-Duchene Champagne.
Each chair also held a white bag that held a variety of dishes and a foot-long baguette for our meals.
Other activities included the opportunity to take individual photos as well as a photo with the interesting dessert tree woman. Her skirt held offerings of macaroons that were not for eating. Instead guests were able to sample a variety of macaroons being offered by nearby staff members.
At the start of the meal and intermittently throughout the evening, guests participated in the obligatory napkin swirl.
After the meal, guests were free to visit with other guests or groove to the hot sounds of the DJ.
Media guests also received two lovely gifts courtesy of Celebrity "X" Cruises.
All-in-All, Chicago's Diner en Blanc was a resounding success. Full of fun, beauty, and good people!
