The Go List! Friday Edition

What a week, Chicago!  From pre-Grammy parties, to the Grammys, to One Chicago, the Lexus Listening Lounge and Macy’s Black History Month celebration, we got it in!

Thursday, February 9th – C-Style went on the road to participate in two pre-Grammy parties in California!  We were invited to a great night of fun with OK! Magazine with guest performer, Jo Jo!

We caught some of the cities notables enjoying the evening including none other than Lisa Vanderpump, Dancing with the Stars, Edyta Sliwinska, and several ladies of ABC’s The Bachelor (sans Nick Viall).

We then joined the fun at Grammy Central, better known as, The Beverly Hilton Hotel.  Courtesy of The Points Guy, Brian, and Hilton Honors we were invited to an evening of fabulousity capped off by a rooftop performance by Grammy nominee, Lukas Graham!

Sunday, February 12th – We joined AT&T one of many great events to come in 2017.  Hosted by AT&T and NBC Chicago, cast members from Chicago Fire, PD, and Med came out to meet and greet fans with the One Chicago event.

On-site were YaYa DaCosta (April Sexton, Chicago Med), Kara Kilmer (Slyvie Brett, Chicago Fire) and LaRoyce (Royce Da Voyce) Hawkins (Kevin Atwater, Chicago PD).  The ladies and gentleman graciously gave interviews, posed for photos with each fan and showed a lot of love!

The event also introduced us to the latest of Dick Wolf’s productions, Chicago Justice, which will premiere on NBC5 Chicago on March 5th.

Sunday, February 12th – The fun continued at the Chicago Auto Show (running through Monday, February 20th) and the Lexus Listening Lounge.  The weekend kicked-off on Friday night with the First Look For Charity featuring Maroon 5’s P.J. Morton as the featured performer.  Saturday, the incomparable Angie Fisher took the stage and we finished out the weekend with R&B legend, Jon B. Jon performed two sets of his most enduring hits and even taped a special message for with us that you can view on our Twitter page (@cstylemagazine)!

Wednesday, February 15th – Macy’s hosted their annual Black History Month celebration (#MacysCulture) with an artistry-inspired theme.  The evening began with a special message and performance from New York-based Poet and Artist, Saul Williams.  After the presentation, two members of Chicago Young Authors took the stage to perform their poetry (the future is indeed bright!).

The audience was then introduced to the moderator for the evening, media personality, Robin Robinson.  Robinson who entertained the audience with her great sense of humor then introduced the guest panel.  Jay Ellis of the new HBO Series hit, “Insecure”, Grandbaby Cakes Soul Food blogger, chef and author, Jocelyn Delk Adams, and Grammy-nominated Chicago native, BJ The Chicago Kid.

Guests were treated to tastes of gumbo, crab cakes, pecan pie and cake inspired from Delk-Adams’s cookbook.  Ladies also enjoyed mini-makeup treatments courtesy of Fashion Fair Cosmetics.
